- Payment information: processed by Stripe — we store your subscription status, not your card details
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, session data for security and error monitoring
How we use it
- To provide and improve IPMates
- To process payments via Stripe
- To send service-related emails (verification, password reset, billing)
- To monitor errors and security (via Sentry)
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share limited data with:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Sentry — error monitoring (anonymised technical data)
- Cloudflare — infrastructure and security
These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies.
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which operates globally. This means your data may be processed outside Australia. We rely on Cloudflare's security and compliance measures to protect it.
Data retention
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days. Some data may persist in backups for up to 90 days. We may retain anonymised, aggregated data indefinitely.
Your rights
You can:
- Access your data through the app at any time
- Export your financial data as CSV
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC)
Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication sessions. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
